An 8-year-old boy became the youngest person to climb California's El Capitan

A MARTÍNEZ, HOST:

Good morning. I'm A Martínez. Adventure is his middle name, and Sam Adventure Baker wears it well because the 8-year-old just became the youngest person to ascend El Capitan. It's 3,000 feet of sheer rock wall in California's Yosemite National Park. Sam and his father, Joe Baker, began the climb almost a week ago as part of a four-person team. They spent nights sleeping on the rock face. At the summit, they held a little party before beginning the eight-mile hike back down. I wonder what Sam has planned for age 9. It's MORNING EDITION.
