Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras has returned!
After the challenges and disruptions of the past two years, we are eager to connect with one another again and welcome you into the shared spaces of the Library.

The New Haven Free Public Library Foundation welcomes you to attend Mardi Gras which will be returning in person on February 21, 2023 at the Ives Main Library located at 133 Elm Street, New Haven, CT. This year is doubly special - not only are we going to be resuming Mardi Gras in-person, we also will be celebrating the 136th year since the library opened its doors to the community.

Mardi Gras is a fun, festive celebration of New Haven — an evening full of delicious food and drink, live music and entertainment, and a Mardi Gras parade — all to support the incredible work of your public library.

Festive attire is welcome!

Mardi Gras Sponsorship Opportunities and Benefits:
Mardi Gras sponsorships support the library system year-round, helping to nurture entrepreneurial innovation, expand programs and enliven neighborhoods where library branches exist, and inspire a new generation of library users through shared experiences and access to information. Libraries play an essential role in local communities by providing access to information and resources, supporting literacy and education, promoting lifelong learning, and serving as a community gathering space. Visit the NHFPL Foundation website to learn about sponsorship opportunities at https://nhfpl.org/about/foundation/events/.

The New Haven Free Public Library Foundation raises funds to support the mission of the New Haven Free Public Library and builds awareness of the Library's community impact.
