A recent report from the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and Dalio Education details disparities in access to high speed internet in Connecticut. More than one-third of low-income households in the state lack high speed internet service. A connection has become more important since school classes, many work meetings and other gatherings moved online during the pandemic. Residents of the state's largest cities are less likely to have service. Black and HIspanic residents of the state are more frequently without a high speed connection than are white residents. People over the age of 65 are also much more likely to lack broadband internet at home.
