In the 2012 election, Latino voters accounted for ten percent of all voters nationwide - a large margin, which will only increase as the Latino population does. Between now and 2030, 40 million Hispanics will be eligible to vote.
But Latinos are poorly represented in our state government - especially when it comes to the state senate. This past November - the first two Latinos were elected - joining ten others in the House of Representatives. This hour, we’ll preview an upcoming panel conversation focusing on the emerging political and civic influence of Latinos in Connecticut and throughout the US.
