The Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil kick off on Friday, and here in Connecticut, our state’s large Brazilian community will be watching far from home. This hour, we learn more about why so many Brazilians come to the Nutmeg State and why it’s hard to say exactly how many Brazilians live here.
Plus, the competition in Rio isn’t all that’s making headlines. The Zika virus, political unrest and allegations of police brutality have been prominent issues in the lead up to the games. We explore these stories, and we speak with a rower from Old Lyme who will be participating in his first Olympic games.
