Connecticut’s eight Winter Olympians all failed to medal in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games.
The state’s last competitor in the games, Julia Marino of Westport, finished 10th in the women’s big air snowboarding event Thursday in Pyeongchang.
Marino came in 11th in the other event she competed in — women’s slopestyle.
Snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis, from Roxbury, came the closest of all to a medal, finishing just three hundredths of a second off the podium in women’s snowboardcross.
Madison’s Zachary Donohue and his partner Madison Hubbell also scored a fourth place finish. They were just five points away from the podium in the ice dancing event.
Madison had three Olympians – the most of any Connecticut town. Mac Bohonnon and Kiley McKinnon failed to qualify for the aerial freestyle skiing finals.
Milford’s Mark Arcobello scored one goal for Team USA men’s ice hockey. They lost in the quarterfinal round to the Czech Republic.
Slider Emily Sweeney of Suffield recorded a “did not finish” after a horrific crash in the women’s singles luge event. She was in a lot of pain afterward but did not suffer any broken bones.
Ridgefield’s Tucker West had the best start of all sliders in men’s singles luge, but he finished outside the top 20.
The closing ceremony for the 2018 Winter Games is Sunday.
