For those of you who haven't heard, Jeremy Lin, is the first American-born, Asian, Pro-Basketball player. He has risen from a relative unknown to emerging superstar status in little over a week. But what a week! Here is why he was chosen as NBA Player of the week: J-Lin helped carry the New York Knicks to a series of five straight wins against the New Jersey Nets, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Minnesota Timberwolves. In each game, he scored no less than twenty points, including an astounding 38 point run against the Lakers. In the words of Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, as reported by Brian Mahoney of the Associated Press, “The excitement Lin has caused in Madison Square Garden, man, I hadn’t seen that in a long time.”
