The Wheelhouse Digest today is being very careful to avoid tweeting under any fake names, and in the meantime we're keen to learn the details of last night's mayoral debate in New Haven. Details about the Sandy Hook school shooting are slowly leaking out, but never officially. Read about that and more below.

NEW HAVEN MAYORAL DEBATE
The first and last mayoral debate took place Tuesday night.

Candidates Toni Harp and Justin Elicker debated on Tuesday night during the lone mayoral debate in advance of the November 5 election. Leading up to this, there were about 15 mayoral debates in advance of the Democratic primary. Melissa Bailey live-blogged the event.

CALLS TO RELEASE A REPORT GROW LOUDER
A Courant editorial asked the state to protect schools rather than feelings.

The same newspaper that published more leaked details about the Sandy Hook school shooting also published an editorial taking the state to task for continuing to balk on making the released details official. It's not clear why these particular details are being leaked, or to whose advantage the leaks may be. Many agree it's counterproductive.

AN OPEN LETTER TO UCONN PRESIDENT HERBST
One of the seven women who filed a complaint against UConn called the school to task in April.

Carolyn Luby, one of the women who recently filed a federal discrimination complaint against UConn, published an open letter to UConn Presiden Susan Herbst last spring that drew lines between athletic pride and the threat of sexual assault on campus. Herbst's justifications for the new school logo as "powerful and aggressive" made Luby feel frustrated and offended.
