If you listen closely to the music of Thomas Mapfumo, you will hear the pulse of Zimbabwe. It’s a sound unlike any other, driven by decades of struggle, brutality, and cultural sabotage.
This hour, we take a look at how Mapfumo’s songs became the voice of an entire nation. Later, we also hear from the curator of a new Madagascar exhibit at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich.
