The first day of summer promises longer, hotter days. The summer solstice, or the day when the Northern Hemisphere is closest to the sun, is Friday, giving us more light than any day of the year.

But that’s only one of several big astronomical events happening this week, including a super supermoon. We talk with UConn Astronomer Cynthia Paterson.

We’re also at the start of Hurricane season, which didn’t always register with us here in New England, but with a series of powerful, deadly storms the last few years, it seems everyone’s paying attention. Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan talks about what to expect.

And, a pagan scholar who tells us about the power of this planetary landmark in many religions.
