Human-Vehicle Hybrids, Robo-Cars, Jetpacks And The Future Of Transportation

At some point in the near future we will all drive our last drive. We will get into our normal car, drive to a dealership and ride out in our first self-driving car. And that's it: The end of driving as we know it, forever and ever, maybe.

But what if the predictions are wrong? What if autonomous vehicles do not represent the future of transportation? This hour we speak with industry experts, philosophers and engineers about a changing car culture and the alternatives to a driverless future.

GUESTS:

  • Jonathon Keats - Conceptual artist, experimental philosopher and principal creator of the Roadable Synapse
  • Ryan Ayler - Research and Design engineer at Hyundai’s corporate venture company and co-creator of the Roadable Synapse
  • Daniel Albert - Automotive correspondent for N+1 magazine and author of the upcoming book Are We There Yet: Cars, Robots, and the End of Driving in America
  • David Mayman - CEO, co-founder, and principal pilot for Jetpack Aviation
