As it is in many election cycles, immigration is a big topic in presidential campaign speeches. Donald Trump has made it one of his top issues and has drawn lots of attention for his plan to build a wall along the Mexican border. But off the campaign trail, what does the immigration climate look like?

Last month, the Inspector General released a report on Haitian national Jean Jacques, who was released from federal custody and murdered a Norwich woman. We speak with an immigration attorney about this case, and broader changes in the nation's immigration laws and enforcement.

GUESTS:

  • Anthony Collins - Immigration attorney based out of Wethersfield, Connecticut
  • Rep. Joe Courtney - Democrat representing Connecticut's 2nd congressional district
  • Muneer Ahmad - Clinical Professor of Law at Yale Law School
