In the past decade, the amount of money that students owe for education has more than doubled to almost $1.4 trillion, and tuition for college has increased nearly 400 percent in the last 30 years.
So it may not be surprising to hear that Hartford’s Trinity College is charging more than $70,000 for tuition, room and board. Of course, most students won’t pay that much - but the sticker price is shocking.
This hour, we talk about what Congress and the Trump administration are doing for students, and about who might benefit the most. And it's been a decade since Congress has revamped the country's higher education system. The Higher Education Act would overhaul the entire federal student loan system.
