With spring comes a rise in the number of black bear sightings in Connecticut.
This hour, we learn about a bear’s lifestyle and biology with author and scientist Dr. Benjamin Kilham.
Dr. Kilham has been a surrogate mother to dozens of orphan black bears in New England and will tell us what his experiences have taught him about the animals and humans alike.
We also get some history on black bears in our state and find out how much their population has grown over the years.
Later, we discuss a controversial bill that would make it legal to hunt black bears in Connecticut.
