A man who stabbed passengers aboard a casino-bound tour bus in Connecticut has been fatally shot by state police. Two people suffered stab wounds, and a third was injured while tackling the suspect.
State Police Lieutenant Paul Vance said passengers on the bus traveling north on Interstate 95 in Connecticut called 911 Tuesday evening to report a man with a “cutting object” who was assaulting passengers.
The driver pulled into a construction site and a state trooper approached the bus. "A good Samaritan tackled the suspect out the bus door, onto the pavement of the highway," Vance said. "The suspect was still armed with that cutting instrument and was attacking the good Samaritan. The trooper was forced to draw his service weapon when the suspect began to advance on the trooper."
The suspect later died. The good Samaritan suffered non-life threatening injuries after being accidently shot by the trooper, who was not harmed.
The incident is under investigation.
