Talking With The "Enemy Of The American People"

Welcome to the Wheelhouse -- WNPR’s Weekly News Roundtable -- as we celebrate our first week as “The Enemy of the American People!”

It’s true that trust and confidence in the media has faltered over the years, as has confidence in every branch of government. But the “failing” New York Times, as President Trump calls the paper, has actually seen a gigantic surge in its readership.

The Times reported this week that Alex Jones, the conspiracy theory-spewing “infowarrior,” is being used by Trump as an occasional “validator” and “information source” for the new president. This might explain Jones’s shift in position on a key issue that’s important to Connecticut. He now says the Sandy Hook shootings “may have happened,” after previously calling them “completely fake.”

This hour, we bring in our regular roundtable of enemies to tell us what is really happening at the state capitol.

GUESTS:

  • Colin McEnroe - Host of WNPR's Colin McEnroe Show
  • Mark Pazniokas - Capitol Bureau Chief at the CT Mirror

Congress has eliminated all funding for public media.

That means $2.1 million per year that Connecticut Public relied on to deliver you news, information, and entertainment programs you enjoyed is gone.

The future of public media is in your hands.
