Meet The Candidates: Ned Lamont

Chion Wolf

WNPR/Connecticut Public Radio
Ned Lamont.

Ned Lamont is a familiar name in Connecticut politics. The Greenwich businessman has run for the U.S. Senate and for governor. And now he’s trying again.

In May, Lamont easily won enough delegate votes to become the Democratic nominee for governor in 2018. This hour, we sit down with the candidate.

We ask about his decision to run, and about the issues facing the people and communities, he hopes to lead.

New Haven Independent: Seniors Pin Down Lamont -  "Goodman said he still admires Lamont for his anti-war U.S. Senate campaign in 2006 and for being the nephew of socialist philosopher and former ACLU director Corliss Lamont. But, he said, he thought Lamont spoke a bit too generally in his response to his specific questions about standing alongside threatened public sector labor unions and undocumented immigrants."

WTNH: Lamont flatly rejects Ganim's challenge on limiting primary spending - "Lamont is completely rejecting Ganim's challenge, saying the general election is already well underway and noting that the 'Republican Governor's Association' has already reserved $2 million worth of Connecticut TV ad space."
