Today you will meet two poets and one novelist, all women, all fascinating, all appearing around here in the next three days.
I will take this opportunity to mention my own interest in Office Poetry, a movement I am in the process of founding. Whenever there is an email memo sent to everyone here in the Dankosky Building, I attempt to turn it into a poem. For a lost item at the front desk, I will compose a haiku. For a bigger topic, like a construction project linking bathrooms on two floors, I may write a three stanza poem in the manner of Hart Crane.
I think this could take off in your work place. Send me your office poems. Include the email that inspired you and then the poem. Colin@wnpr.org. We'll do a show on them. Speaking of that, tomorrow's show is about the way a scar on your body tells a story. We're looking for stories of scars.
