Frontier Communications said it will offer refunds to customers who have been affected by outages in service. The Stamford-based company just switched over all of AT&T'?s landline, Internet and streaming video customers.
Frontier acquired AT&T's Connecticut landline business in a $2 billion deal. It said 99 percent of customers experienced no problems with the weekend switchover, but around 10,000 had some type of service interruption.
In a statement, the company said:
These interruptions have been isolated and the issues customers have reported have been fixed or are being addressed as quickly as possible. But we appreciate that for those impacted customers it has been frustrating to deal with these service issues, and we apologize.
All UVerse TV customers will automatically receive a $50.00 credit on their bills before the end of the year. Internet customers who experienced a significant outage will get a credit for their time without service.
Frontier issued two numbers for customers to call if they're experiencing issues with their service. Residential customers should call (800) 921-8101. Business customers can contact (800) 921-8102.
