Live From The Lyceum, Billings Forge Breaks Through

http://cptv.vo.llnwd.net/o2/ypmwebcontent/Josie/Where%20We%20Live%2002-03-2011.mp3

Billings Forge is reshaping Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood through the arts, historic preservation, farm to table food, and affordable housing.

Billings Forge might just be the next big thing in community revitalization.  Frog Hollow is a neighborhood that has struggled through the years with high crime, gangs and drugs.  It’s slowly turning around thanks to a focus on getting rid of blight, creating affordable housing, building programs for youth.  Today we broadcast live from the Lyceum – and we’re talking to residents, local business owners, and community members. How can one revitalization project help change a neighborhood and how can one neighborhood help turn around a city?
