Connecticut Lottery Suspends Game Over Possible Manipulation

CT Lottery President Anne Noble said in a statement that "integrity is paramount."

The Connecticut state lottery has suspended one of its games because of possible manipulation by retailers for their own gain.

CT Lottery officials said Thursday they have halted sales and payouts for the 5 Card Cash game so new software could be installed to "further enhance the security features of the game."

Officials said some retailers may have intentionally manipulated the reporting mechanism on the lottery terminals. They did not name those retailers or say exactly how the terminals were manipulated.

The state is investigating.

CT Lottery President Anne Noble said in a statement that "integrity is paramount," and she expects the game up and running again soon.

No other lottery games are affected.

The 5 Card Cash game is a poker-like game that costs $2 or $3 to play.
