On April 2, 2023, Filling in the Blanks (FITB) will host the fifth annual Unite to Fight 5K. The race will be held at Waveny Park in New Canaan, CT to help fulfill our mission of fighting childhood hunger by providing children in need with weekend meals.

Founded in 2013, Filling in the Blanks serves over 4,500 children weekly at 129 sites throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Children who are eligible for the free or reduced meal programs receive a bag of healthy, easy-to-prepare meals to fill the void on the weekends when the school programs are not available.  Filling in the Blanks purchases 99% of the food for the weekend meal bag program. Fundraising events, such as The Unite to Fight 5K, are crucial for growing the program.
