From the glistening Hammonasset shoreline to the winding paths of the Blue-Blazed trails, Connecticut is home to 139 of the most beloved parks and forests in our region.
For the past 100 years, our state park and forest system has provided locals -- and a lot of visitors -- with access to some of the greatest spots for hiking, picnicking, canoeing, camping, fishing -- the list goes on.
But, without proper attention to funding and preservation, these lands might not be here forever.
On this program, we take a look back on the past century of our state parks and forests. And we also discuss some of the efforts being made to make sure they’re here for centuries to come.
