Forum Financial Services said that it had a deal to rent digital broadcast equipment to Back9 for a total of about $40,000 a month. But as of last February, Back9 stopped paying.
Forum said that Back9 now owes it more than $830,000 for things like overdue rent, future rent, interest, and taxes paid to the city of Hartford.
The new network was supposed to showcase golf entertainment. It got about $5 million from the state for its downtown Hartford offices and studio, and it raised many millions more from private investors.
But as of last February, it all but stopped operations, having burned through its cash.
The company is facing at least one investor lawsuit. It has settled another lawsuit with a former employee.
Construction contractors who worked on the project said they've yet to be paid. An attorney for Forum declined to comment.
