TONI HARP WINS DEMS' ENDORSEMENT
But she still has to petition to get on the ballot for New Haven Mayor.
Democrat Toni Harp was endorsed by the Democratic Town Committee on Tuesday. But the DTC failed to file paperwork on time to have her name on the ballot.
Harp is taking it in good stride (at least in public). She called this moment a "silver lining," as her supporters took to the streets with petitions.

STAMFORD HEDGE FUND INDICTED BY FEDS
SAC Capital is a successful trading firm on Wall Street and federal authorities just announced four counts of securities fraud and one count of wire fraud against the company.
This decade-long investigation did not result in criminal charges against SAC's chief, Steven Cohen. But he could still face civil charges.

VALLAS KEEPS HIS JOB DURING APPEAL
While the Connecticut Supreme Court decides whether or not Bridgeport Schools Superintendent Paul Vallas can remain on the job after a lower court said he was unqualified.
Of course, Vallas appealed the decision and the Supreme Court said he can continue his job until a final decision is reached.

FEWER FEMALE INMATES IN DANBURY FEDERAL PRISON
Instead of serving time in western Connecticut, many female prisoners will now go to Aliceville, Ala. The Danbury Federal Corrections Institute was an all-female prison back in the '90s. The new plan will allot only 200 spots for women out of approximately 1,300.
Opponents of the move say that prisoners who come from the northeast will be much further away from home and their families.
Female inmates will start being moved next month.
