MEDICAL MARIJUANA GROWER APPROVED IN MIDDLETOWN
Former factory space may become quite "green."

A producer for medical marijuana, Greenbelt Management, was approved by Middletown's Common Council this week, leasing space in a city-owned building that was used at various points to make bicycles, cars, and typewriters. A state license is pending.

PROPOSALS PITCHED FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY PROJECTS

Several bids were proposed to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for renewable energy projects, including ideas for wind turbines, a fuel cell park, and solar electricity generation. A highly-publicized proposal to convert the Montville Power Station into a renewable energy park was not among the bids on the August 5 deadline.

NEW BRITAIN ROCK CATS PULL A TACKY PUBLICITY STUNT

A marriage proposal on the ballfield at a recent New Britain Rock Cats' game went horribly wrong, and video of the event went viral online. Now it's become clear that it was all staged, but it had no real point except to "entertain."
