East Haven GOP incumbent mayor Joseph Maturo has claimed victory.
This will be the former firefighter's eighth term as mayor. According to the New Haven Register, unofficial results has Maturo receiving 2,981 votes, Democrat Michael Speer receiving 1,702 votes, and Independent challenger Sal Maltese garnering 1,836 votes.

Congress has eliminated all funding for public media.
