Morning Edition Returns: Pickles and Polar Bears

In Mount Olive, North Carolina, they relish the opportunity to ring in the New Year a bit earlier than most of the nation, and on Coney Island, it's a good time for a dip in the surf.

Federal funding is gone.

Congress has eliminated all funding for public media.

That means $2.1 million per year that Connecticut Public relied on to deliver you news, information, and entertainment programs you enjoyed is gone.
