Taylor Swift's new album, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' is setting records

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG "FORTNIGHT")

TAYLOR SWIFT: (Singing) And for a fortnight there...

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. Taylor Swift is setting records. "The Tortured Poets Department" is Swift's 14th chart topper, tying Jay-Z for most No. 1 albums on the Billboard charts by a soloist. Only The Beatles have more No. 1 albums. "Tortured Poets" has also sold 859,000 vinyl copies in its debut, the most, according to Billboard, since the release of another Swift album, "1989 (Taylor's Version)." It's MORNING EDITION.
