From Faith Middleton: Everyone wants to know how to have more joy, embrace prosperity, and deepen relationships with friends, family and co-workers. But rarely do we want to take advice on these things from someone who hasn't lived it.
Our guest Alan Fox has, and he shares his wisdom in the book, People Tools: 54 Strategies for Building Relationships, Creating Joy and Embracing Prosperity, published in paperback by Select Books.
Fox has tested his strategies for years in his personal and professional lives. He has graduate degrees in professional writing, law and education. He is also founder and CEO of a company that owns and manages $1.5 billion in commercial real estate assets. He's been married for 30 years and parents six children.
Fox's Self-Fulfilling Prophecy — Few of us want to be wrong, and it's easier to fail than to succeed. Hence, if you predict failure, you are likely to be right. But the real question is: Which prophecy will help you succeed more often? If prophecies tend to be self-fulfilling, I prefer to infuse them with optimism.
Fox's Stuff It Into Your Sub — When facing a tough problem with no immediate solution, stuff it into your subconscious. That is, put it to the back of your mind, and then revisit it in an hour, a day, or a week. Chances are, you'll find you've devised a solution without even "thinking" about it.
Join us as we hear about more of Alan Fox's strategies for leading a deeper, richer life at home or work.
Alan Fox's book has been endorsed by three renowned mindfulness teachers, Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, and Jack Kornfield.
