The story of an inmate at York Correctional Facility, known simply as Jane Doe, has caught the attention of Governor Dannel Malloy. She’s a 16-year-old transgender female at the center of a rare transfer of custody from the Department of Children and Families to the Department of Corrections.

Malloy is now calling for Jane Doe to be moved out of the adult prison. We get an update from WNPR's Lucy Nalpathanchil and Connecticut's child advocate, Sarah Eagan.

A fence built decades ago separated a crime-filled housing complex in New Haven from the Hamden suburbs. We hear more about Connecticut's "Berlin Wall" from the New Haven Independent's Paul Bass.

It can be hard to keep up with the latest fashion trends, but our high school correspondents at Blue Mic Radio are on top of it.
