Snowstorms are being blamed for a drop in revenue and slot machine bets at Connecticut's two casinos last month.

Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the MashantucketPequots, on Monday reported $31.6 million in revenue, or the share of wagers. It was down more than 19 percent from February 2014. Slot machine bets were about $383 million, a 20 percent decline from the same month last year.

Mohegan Sun reported revenue of $42.1 million, down about two percent from February 2014. Slot machine bets of $508.2 million were down 17.6 percent, from $525.8 million in February 2014.

Felix Rappaport, president and chief executive of Foxwoods, said the decline in slot revenue was due "almost exclusively to weather," with snowstorms hindering travel to the casino for most of February.
