West Haven Mayor Nancy Rossi rebuffs calls to step down due to federal pandemic funds scandal

West Haven Mayor Nancy Rossi recorded a three-minute video on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, informing the public that an audit had found problems with the way the city spent federal coronavirus relief money.

Newly reelected West Haven Mayor Nancy Rossi spoke at length on “All Things Considered” about her narrow victory and the scandal rocking her administration.

To recap, in early October, we learned that a city employee may have defrauded the city out of more than $600,000 in pandemic relief funds.

Last week, we learned that another city employee may have been an accomplice.
