Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra is running for his second full term this year, and a lot of people are looking to unseat him. One is Luke Bronin, the governor's former legal counsel; another is attorney John Gale; and a third is city Councilman Joel Cruz.
Then there is Probate Judge Robert Killian, Jr., who says he has spent time meeting with over 400 people but hasn't yet decided whether to run.
In an email to supporters Sunday, he said he thinks "the city is headed for a disaster. Most amazingly, I don’t see much evidence that the current city leadership is aware of our downward trajectory."
And as for the planned minor league baseball stadium, Killian wrote this: "The baseball stadium is an insult to Hartford taxpayers and shows a high level of ineptitude on the part of city leaders."
