The Scramble Exposes the Long Game of Putin

Molly McKew says the liberal world order of democratic values is unraveling. In its place, Vladimir Putin is building a new world order with the primary goal of weakening America and NATO. He's waging a quiet war of subversion rather than domination and we've been slow to catch on. Yet, we see it all around us in Americans loss of faith in its democratic institutions. Is a new Cold War what America needs? We're already in the war - whether we want it or not.

MSNBC Joe Scarborough got in a Twitter war this weekend with Sopan Deb, a journalist who recently left CBS News to join the New York Times. Deb tweeted that Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzenzinski  "partied" at at Mar-a-Lago during Donald Trump's New Year's Eve party.  Scarborough reacted strongly against the word "partied" and accused Deb of spreading fake news. It may seem like just another snarky war on Twitter. But, Deb is raising legitimate concerns about the relationship between Scarborough and Trump. Can we afford further erosion of trust in the media?
