Tensions in America run deep. They exist between the right and the left, between the religious and the secular, and between the rich and the poor. And in recent years, tensions between the citizens at large and their elected officials -- which seem less responsive to the will of the people -- gave rise to a wave of populism like we've rarely seen before.
But as we look back at this nation's founding and history, we see that the seeds of such divisions were planted long ago. And while they've clearly grown, there may yet remain a middle ground upon which we can find reconciliation once again. This hour, we speak with experts about the history of division in America and ask how we might bridge the divide.
