Let's Talk About Election Day

It's almost over. One more day of lawn signs, robocalls, nasty mailers and deceptive commercials. Election Day is upon us and is shaping up to bring an unprecedented number of voters to the polls.

I feel a spark of cautious optimism to know that more than  twenty million voters have already voted ahead of Tuesday's election. The New York Times reports that in some states, the number of people who voted early this year is almost as high as the total number of votes cast in 2014, including Election Day.

After nearly two years of relentless attacks on democratic norms, many of us are left to question whether we can still trust our system of voting. Yet, the best and only way to fix an imperfect voting system whose legitimacy depends upon our trust is to vote - especially when attempts to suppress the vote shake our trust. Voting is that powerful.

Call us with your concerns, your frustration with the process, the candidates, the lawn signs, robocalls, mailers and deceptive commercials. We're in this together.

Secretary of the State Denise Merrill's guidance regarding "challenges" to voters on Election Day.

We'll end our show with an uplifting interview with comedian Lewis Black. Here is the link to the podcast.
