MAD for Trees, with the help of the Women’s Club of Madison, the Conservation Commission of Madison, and the non-profit C-Change Conversations will be hosting this unique non-partisan event exploring one of the most urgent issues of our time - climate change. The Madison Climate Change Event will consist of three distinct activities. Participants are welcome to join in all or some of the activities:

1. Save the Sound Beach Clean Up @ Madison Surf Club (4 – 6PM): The Connecticut Cleanup is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, which takes place each fall. Help your community and the beaches you love by picking up trash and keeping our rivers and Long Island Sound clean. You can pre-register for this segment separately at Save the Sound.

2. Tabletop Expo (6 – 7PM): a dozen local groups will be presenting ways for residents to engage in preserving our CT shoreline environment. Participating groups include the Madison Land Conservation Trust, the Conservation Commission, Madison Pollinator Pathway, The Friends of Hammonasset, the Eco Club from Daniel Hand High School, Rockland Preserve, UCONN Master Gardeners, Save the Sound, Sierra Club, and of course MAD for Trees.

3. The C-Change Primer @ Madison Surf Club (7:15 – 8:15PM): is an engaging and compelling program that uses visual data, charts and photographs to provide an accessible, non-partisan overview of the science behind climate change and a clear-eyed assessment of the potential risks ahead. Dallas Hetherington from C-Change Conversations will present it.
