COVID Cases In Students K-12 Are Up 70 Percent In One Week

The number of coronavirus cases among students K through 12th grade has jumped 70 percent in one week. That’s according to state data. The Hartford Courant reports that 471 new cases among students were reported from Nov. 12 to Nov. 18. At the same time, staff cases increased by 49 percent. Staples High School in Westport reported the most cases at 30 followed by a high school  in Stratford. The data includes students that have been learning in-person as well as those who have been remote for the entire semester. State officials said the majority of students are becoming infected outside of the classroom according to contact tracing.
