North Branford Nursing Home Reports Over 80 Percent of Residents Infected, 6 COVID-Related Deaths

Evergreen Woods, a North Branford nursing home, has reported six COVID-related deaths in the last two weeks and says 21 of its 24 residents are currently infected. Hearst Connecticut reports there were also nine cases among staff.  A facility administrator said the nursing home was spared in the spring from the COVID outbreaks seen at many other facilities, but this time around they are being hit hard. In light of the outbreak, Evergreen Woods is restricting visitation, delivering meals to each individual room and urging residents to not hold any large gatherings for Thanksgiving.
