The chair of the Connecticut State Senate's Labor Committee estimates that during the pandemic the Department of Labor overpaid unemployment benefits to some 13,000 Connecticut residents by around $30 million dollars.
Connecticut State Senator Julie Kushner (D) also says both of those figures could grow as final audits get completed.
She joined "All Things Considered" to talk about rumblings that the state wants that money back.
