Did Newtown Police Respond Quickly Enough?

That's the question being asked after a report from the Danbury News-Times says 10 rounds were fired  before officers entered the school. Their source says there was a delay in how quickly the officers entered the building but, "The question is whether it was significant or justified."

On the latest edition of our weekly news roundtable, The Wheelhouse we talk with the paper's editor, Tom Baden about the report.

We also talk about Connecticut's new energy legislation, the challenges facing Joette Katz at DCF, a casino referendum in Springfield, and the XL Center's response to a complaint about wheelchair accessibility.

GUESTS:

  • Tom Baden - Editor of the Danbury News-Times
  • Mark Pazniokas - Capitol bureau chief for the Connecticut Mirror
  • Karen Florin - Court reporter for The Day
  • Paul Tuthill - Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief for WAMC
  • Michelle Duprey - Director of New Haven's Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities

Is it fair to ask police officers if they were aggressive enough in entering the Sandy Hook Elementary School?
