From Church to Mosque: An Interfaith Partnership at a Time of Increasing Hate

A picturesque building that’s been the home of the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport -- for 91 years -- will soon be transformed into a mosque.

This hour, we learn the story behind the Bridgeport Islamic Community Center’s plans to purchase the UCC church and the strong interfaith partnership that will make the purchase possible.

We talk with the Senior Minister of the UCC in Bridgeport as well as a member of the Bridgeport Islamic Community Center.

How did this interfaith partnership come to be in a time of increasing incidents of harassment and hate crimes in our country?

Later, we continue our occasional series that highlights the stories of immigrants living in Connecticut. We talk with a Polish immigrant and long-time New Britain resident about his journey from war-torn Europe to the deserts of the middle east, and finally to the Nutmeg State.
