The Scramble: Wiretapping And Reductions In Protective Regulations And EPA Budget

Can We Count On Clean Water?

President Donald Trump claimed former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential campaign in a series of tweets Saturday morning.

He's sticking to his claim despite denials from a spokesperson for President Obama, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and a plea from F.B.I. director James Comey, asking the Justice department to publicly reject Trump's assertion. Why is Trump returning to his  birther-style attacks on Obama?

While claims of wiretapping burned up the news this weekend, President Trump and Congress have delayed, suspended or reversed more than ninety regulations in the weeks since Trump took office. Is this what Trump team chief strategist meant last month when he talked of "the destruction of the administrative state."

Also: The White House has proposed  cutting the EPA budget by about twenty percent.
