In his latest book, author and scholar Moustafa Bayoumi takes a critical look at what it means to be Muslim-American in post-9/11 society.

This hour, we talk to Bayoumi about the book called This Muslim American Life: Dispatches from the War on Terror. We also hear from a member of the local Muslim community, and check in on Michigan -- one of several U.S. states refusing to accept Syrian refugees after the Paris attacks.

GUESTS:

  • Moustafa Bayoumi - Professor of English at Brooklyn College, City University of New York; author of several books, including This Muslim American Life: Dispatches from the War on Terror
  • Reza Mansoor - Founding President of the Muslim Coalition of Connecticut; President of the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford in Berlin, Connecticut; trustee of the Hartford Seminary; cardiologist at Hartford Hospital
  • Matthew Stiffler - Lecturer in the Department of American Culture at the University of Michigan; researcher at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, Michigan
