A Conversation with Dan Brown; the Charles W. Morgan Sets Sail; the History of Ham Radio

Author Dan Brown has written some of the biggest blockbuster books, from The Da Vinci Code to his latest book, Inferno. He’s coming to Hartford next month to talk with John Dankosky at the Bushnell. This hour, he joins us for a preview of that conversation.

The Charles W. Morgan whaling vessel set sail last Saturday. The vessel journeyed from Mystic Seaport to New London, where Seaport staff will finish preparing for its 38th voyage this summer. We talk to a reporter who’s been covering the Morgan's story for WNPR, along with a local resident who’s been selected as one of its 38th Voyagers -- she’s a writer, who’ll use the trip to reconsider one of her favorite books, Moby Dick.

We also check in with WNPR reporter Patrick Skahill, who tells us about his new science blog, The Beaker, and shares some local history and science behind ham radio.
