Prosecutors from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team and the Southern District of New York on Friday afternoon came closer to answering these questions as they relate to President Trump and his campaign's interference in the 2016 election.
Federal prosecutors filed sentencing memos for Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort that offer new, if heavily redacted, details that confirm the president directed Michael Cohen to break campaign finance laws via hush money to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDoughal. We also learn the president directed Cohen to make contact with Russian nationals as early as 2015.
The president thinks the new information "totally clears" him of wrongdoing. Most legal scholars say not so fast.
