Connecticut Utility Crews Stand By In Case Of Weather-related Outages

United Illuminating is getting its crews ready in case of power outages during what are expected to be very windy and rainy conditions along the shoreline Monday afternoon and this evening. UI says it is also lining up outside contractors to help. The New Haven-area utility company says any outages could last a day or longer for some customers, and they're warning householders to secure any outdoor holiday decorations or other items that might blow around.
