Rowland Won't Talk; Wants to "Respect the Process"

WTIC

Former Republican Gov. John Rowland took to the airwaves on Tuesday to host his afternoon talk show on WTIC 1080. He began by saying he would not discuss the federal case that has apparently ensnared him.

"Three-oh-seven, WTIC News Talk 1080. John G. Rowland here with you. And before I get the program going, I just want to make a quick statement. I am not going to be discussing the recent news and legal developments. I am sure that you all understand. And I want to respect the process."

On Monday, former congressional candidate Lisa Wilson-Foley and her husband pleaded guilty in an off-the-books scheme to pay Rowland for campaign consulting work. Rowland has not been charged and his attorney did not return a call for comment.

Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy said earlier in the day that he believed WTIC should take Rowland off the air in light of the corruption scandal.
