Isabelle Marceles
Roy W. Howard Investigative Reporting FellowIsabelle Marceles is a 2026 Roy W. Howard Investigative Reporting Fellow. Her work centers on accountability reporting that elevates human stories.
Her first story at Connecticut Public uncovered how a water utility company mistakenly dropped hundreds of low-income households from its assistance program. In response, the company reinstated discounts for nearly every customer, and sent thousands in bill credits.
She hopes her reporting continues to have a direct impact on underreported communities throughout Connecticut. She is excited to dive into the intricate issues of housing, economic stability, education and government.
Isabelle moved to Connecticut from Arizona after receiving her Master of Arts in Investigative Journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. During her time at ASU’s Howard Center for Investigative Reporting, she contributed to national investigations with CBS News and Scripps News.
She also traveled to Panama and documented the release of hundreds of migrants deported from the United States, revealing the human toll of a little-covered policy. Isabelle also gained experience in daily reporting during her time as a Cronkite News politics and health reporter in Washington, D.C.
Welcome Isabelle to the state as she adjusts to the extreme cold and New England lifestyle.
